In the last year, Orefields has embarked upon a series of major initiatives, including new investments and an expanded, even stronger team. Michael Ahlander has now been appointed as CEO with the remit to continue leading the work forward.

Orefields entered the Raise Boring industry as a new player in 2010. With hand-picked, internationally experienced personnel, the company rapidly became a new option in the field of Raise Boring services, gaining commissions within mining, hydroelectric power and infrastructure.

With a focus on quality and orderliness, the company has ensured a strategic continuation of its journey towards delivering high-precision services to a demanding clientele.

Orefields is based in Kiruna and the majority of the company’s assignments are in Sweden and Finland, but the sights are set on expanding the scope of operation to include international assignments.

Michael’s most recent position was at Swerock AB, where he worked as project manager and logistics manager. He has excellent experience of setting up business in new markets and has set his sights on broadening Orefields’ market.

“Orefields has established itself as a reliable contractor within the mining industry, now we are going to broaden our market and become an obvious supplier within infrastructure projects,” Michael Ahlander says.

Today Orefields has 14 employees and three Raise Boring rigs, which are currently in operation in Kiruna, Malmberget and Kittilä.
